Site, Discord, Staff, and Pricing Updates

We've introduced many changes to provide a more pleasurable experience to all community members, increase security, and more.

Staff and Partnership Changes

• Projecki has resigned from his role on November 5th as a dispute moderator to fulfill other interests such as sports.
• trip has joined our staff team as a chat moderator on November 7th.
• primaryguy has joined our staff team and has become a dispute resolver on November 19th.
• MCTrades is no longer partnered with PhaseClan.

Trade and Security Enhancements

• Repeated attempts to login will now cause the account to get temporarily locked.
• Higher password standards have been set.
• Users may no longer limit the viewing of their profile by themselves.
  • Changing your preference to hide your profile from everyone but whom you follow now requires you to message a staff team member with valid reasoning.
• We're cracking down on accounts with temporary email accounts.
  • Accounts found to be utilizing temporary emails will receive a notification and be asked to update their email within 48 hours or have account limitations applied.
• All too often, our warnings become ignored and repeat violations occur. To remove the possible excuse that one hadn't known of the issue, we now require acknowledgement of most warnings given out to continue normal usage of MCTrades.
• We're working on a new automated moderation system to moderate places our team doesn't always get to.
• We’re working on banning confirmed VPN and proxy IPs from registering.

Site Cleanup

Some of our features were quite pointless, for example a "declined" thread prefix in the declined section. We're working on cleaning it up.

• All prefixes other than "Bug Report" and "Suggestion" have been removed from the Community Advice category and sub-forums.
• "Offering" and "Requesting" thread prefixes have been removed from the Minecraft Accounts/Capes category and sub-forums.
• Some “Official” sticky threads in categories have been removed and moved into locked wiki posts with a link in the category description.
• Replaced resource prefixes.

Rule Changes (View Rules)

• Modified Discord Rules (5.*)
  • Self-bots are now strictly prohibited.
  • Attempting to bypass message filtering or security systems is now against our rules.
  • Advertisements may only be made in the "Miniature Marketplace" category.
• Modified Chat Rules (2.*)
  • Ads must now be 25 messages apart.
  • Automated messaging bots are no longer allowed in the chat.

Discord Server Changes (Join Our Discord Server)

• Access to our Discord server is now limited.
  • Users whom agree to our rules get to view all channels and chat in support and the general discussion, however may not advertise. Rule violations require them to agree once again.
  • Discord accounts linked to MCTrades have access to most of the MCTrades Discord server unless limited or muted.
• A bug where our message filtering system could be bypassed by blocking the bot has now been patched. Blocking the bot now simply prevents you from knowing why your message was deleted.
• To have log data removed or have your case reevaluated, please present our moderation team with the message identification number that was presented in your warning message. If one has not been sent, please make sure that our bots are not blocked on your end.
• A permission error allowing users to add reactions to their heart's desires has been patched and reactions in official channels are now restricted to ones set out by our staff team.
• Our online partners list has been bumped up on top of members wielding the "Emerald" rank/role.

Site Tweaks and Updates

• Banned users may now logout instead of being trapped on the "banned" page forever.
  • Allows for banned members to create an alternative account to appeal, however for simply ban evading, our system normally catches them.
• Media embed for YouTube and MSNBC updated.
• The "Business Accounts" button on the business accounts selection popup has been rephrased to "Login".
• The "Winner" post rating has been renamed to "Vouch".
• We've added some secret smilies.
  • Five smilies and more to come are currently on our hidden list-nowhere to be seen, other than within messages of those whom know of them.
• Fixed a bug where the date picker's month text was the same color as the background.
• Removed the "Avatar" navigation link to free up navigation space.
• Removed the "Alerts" navigation link to free up navigation space.
• Added a "Add License" link under the "Resources" tab.
• Added a slim green loading bar to the top of the page.
• Fixed the "Contact Us" footer link.
• Some username color names have been modified in the display preferences such as “Registered” has been changed to “Grey Name Color”.
• Removed some groups from display preferences.
• Modified some style descriptions.
• Removed some software to help improve load times.
• Moved some JavaScript to the footer of the page to increase visible content loading.
• Removed some external content from being viewed by GoogleBot.
• Modified the “pending moderation” message per category.
• Filter threads by their prefix using a simple bar filled with prefixes at the top of most forum categories.
• Three notices now appear to encourage new members to set a profile picture, set their “About Me” message, and make their first message.
• We’ve improved our spam detection system and is now both on our servers and using a secure third party message scanning service.
• Added more resource categories and sub-categories.

Advertising (Advertise With MCTrades)

• The Minecraft Alts/FAs section sticky thread price has been increased to $13/month/thread from $10/month/thread. This is due to high demand for sticky threads in the section. Bulk discounts are still available.
• Sidebar banner slot prices are continuing to fluctuate based on the current demand with a base price of $4/week/banner, however may rise up to $7/week/banner occasionally at this time.
• Bulk discounts have been decreased as we actually have some clients having ads already paid for into 2018.

Discord Trade Advisement

Please make sure that deals done through Discord have all participants’ accounts linked. This provided some protection from impersonators and alternative accounts. To check if their account is linked, search for their Discord tag in our Discord server and confirm they have the “Linked” role.

Account Security Advisement

Make sure that your account password is secure and does not contain any dictionairy words. You are responsible for your own account.
