It's been a while since I wrote up an announcement. In spite of recent events, a lot of things have changed here on MCTrades. As such, you may come across some cool features while browsing!

New theme: Say hello to the brand new MCTrades theme! Powered by Google's Material CSS, the new theme incorporates metro-style buttons and sleek design settings! We can now truly call ourselves the Modern Minecraft Marketplace.

• Due to some compatibility features, our covers addon has been changed. If you had previously uploaded a cover, feel free to reupload it.
• The ADStyler has been temporarily disabled due to bugs. It may or may not return.
• Diamond users can switch to the Material Dark theme.

Because this is a brand new theme, bugs are expected. If you encounter any bugs, please submit a bug report by making a thread in the suggestions section and selecting "Bug Report" as the thread prefix.

Reputation/User Ratings: After being widely requested, we now have a reputation addon! If you would like to add a rating to a user, just navigate to https://mctrades.org/members/<user>/add-rating (it can be found on a user's member card or on the right-hand corner of their profile).

Staff changes: Our staff team has had some changes!

• BadNode is now a moderator! Most of you recognize him as an administrator from a now-closed marketplace. Let's give him a warm welcome!
• Eagle has been demoted due to inactivity. I'd like to thank him for his time here on MCTrades.

Hello MCTrades,

I don't often post much when it comes to community thanking and other major things, hence I thought I'd give it a shot this time. Over the past month, we have gained a pretty decent amount of content and members. We couldn't have got this far without you, and we thank those of you who continue to use our site daily, weekly, and monthly. Every view, post, and thread counts, overall making us a better community.

I would also like to thank those of you who decided to financially support the forum, all donations are much appreciate and are put towards making the forum better.

On the note of us expanding, there have been a few changes among the staff team that we feel the community needs to be informed on. The staff changes are below:

• Raze was banned for scamming another user. Despite this setback, we would like to thank him for his time and effort keeping the shoutbox clean and spam-free.
• TheEpicPotato has been promoted to Resource Moderator.

There have been no other major changes on the forum as of now., though we do plan on releasing new content and more dynamic updates in the near future.

Hello everyone! It certainly has been a while since we had an announcement, so I decided I would write one up considering we just hit 2000 messages !

I would like to thank everybody for remaining active on the site. Following my recent unban on a competitor, I worried about the future of MCTrades. I wondered whether or not I should continue running the site; however, in the end, I realized I was and always will be responsible for keeping and maintaining the forums. And because it is my responsibility, I will ensure the site does not die. Accordingly, we have had some staff changes:

• It's been a while now, but petercraig and Owen have left the staff team for several reasons. I will be temporarily taking all dispute resolution duties into my own hands.
• Because we currently lack active moderators, I am happy to announce that XenoNode has joined the staff team! I am sure that he will do an amazing job

Beyond that, we have some long-awaited updates!

• We now have a banlist (phew!). Our previous list was only accessible to moderators, so I just decided to change the addon. The banned members list can be found under the "members" tab.
• Users who have purchased upgrades/name colors can now switch through their colors without needing to contact staff members! You can access the switch under your account preferences.

And finally, we have a name color giveaway!

• The first 3 users who like this message and comment below asking for a name color (anything except rainbow) will get a free permanent name color. After that, the next 17 users who like this message and comment get a free name color for a month.

Hello everyone!

I'd like to start off by saying thanks to everyone. I never imagined we would reach this point. 500 members—the number itself is staggering—is an amazing accomplishment for a site like MCTrades. And it never would have been possible without members like you guys.

For those of you who haven't heard: I was recently informed that we are the second MCTrades site to have existed. The original was founded by IPv4 in late 2015 and closed last February. I have merged all the original users to the new MCTrades.

I've been noticing a drop in activity. I'm not going to deny it: if we don't get a unique idea or concept implemented, the site will fail. Therefore, I will be paying very close attention to the Suggestions section for the foreseeable future.

I will be taking some time to write more wiki pages on how to effectively use the forum. I feel the wiki is underused, and I can't really blame anyone but myself considering we don't have much to read.

If you or someone you know has any Skype/server advertising services, please PM me. I am looking into paid advertising at this time, and I'm open to any options.

Hello everyone!

Prior to getting through the update list, I would like to thank all our members for getting MCTrades to 1000 messages! It was an amazing Christmas gift for me and my staff members

Now, some of our updates:

• Name colors will be added within the next week. You won't be able to change between the colors you have purchased for now. Each color will cost $1, except for the...
• Rainbow name color. Yup! After some testing with the staff, I have decided to allow the purchase of the rainbow name color. The color will be added along with all the other colors throughout the next week for either $3 or $5.
• Merge with CraftBuzz. CraftBuzz was my old marketplace, which has now been rebranded as a Minecraft News site. I have merged the users to MCTrades. In the process of doing so, however, members who had signed up on CraftBuzz may have had their accounts overwritten in the process of the transfer. I have attempted to undo all the damage, but if you have any issues with your account/unauthorized name changes, please open a support ticket and I will immediately fix it.
• Christmas is gone, and so is our Christmas theme and the snow. I would like your feedback about our Christmas theme, as it is my own creation.
• Staff Changes. We have had some goodbyes. pablo67340 and Wishix have left the staff team to pursue other opportunities, and Fire has stepped down as a Resource Moderator. zDrakon is our new Chat Moderator.

Prior to beginning with the update notice, I just want to quickly let you know that I will be on vacation from December 26-January 4. During this time, Owen will take over as a front-end administrator. Suggestion processing and admin-requiring changes will be temporarily halted. I am certain that Owen will do a great job.

Now, the updates! Nothing major was really added:

• petercraig suggested that we add a bug reports section. From now on, bug reports can be submitted by selecting the "Bug Report" thread prefix in the suggestions forum.
• The was added as an emoticon.
• Users who want to refer their friends to MCTrades now can using our customized referral system! You can refer users either by giving them your personal referral link (https://mctrades.org/register/?ref=yourusername), or by having them put your username in the "Referrer" box. Users who refer lots of users will get some neat perks in the future

Other than that, thank you to you all for 230 users! The merge proved to be semi-successful, and I'm sure we can make things better from here on out.

Here's what you need to know:

• Users who were already registered won't be affected in any way.
• Users who came to the forum from MCOutlet prior to the migration haven't been affected besides avatars being uploaded.
• Users who were added during the migration (aka those who haven't technically "registered" on MCT) have been transferred to the site, but for security reasons, all passwords have been reset. I will be sending out a password reset email for these users; if you didn't receive the email, you can reset your password here.

It's been over a month that MCTrades has been released to the public, and I got to say that we have been making progress! Prior to going through our updates list, I want to thank all of our awesome referrers for getting us to 71 members! Remember, something as simple as a Skype message can get us out there!

For those of you with Diamond, you may have noticed that Christmas theme is now available! Additionally, Diamond computer users will see snow on all dark themes. As of now, there is no way to disable the snow.

Speaking of upgrades, Diamond users can now buy Emerald for a reduced price ($10 instead of $20)! Simply go to the "Account Upgrades" tab under the profile dropdown and select the Diamond to Emerald upgrade!

Here is a list of some of the cool new perks donors get:

• Make/edit wiki pages
• Upload profile cover
• Change text color and upload images in shoutbox
• Use the conversation autoresponder (Emerald)
• See who is viewing a thread (Emerald)
• Customize the forum colors using the ADStyler (Emerald)

The last perk might have interested you. I would like to formally introduce our unique experience customization feature, the Audentio ADStyler!

The ADStyler has two portions: the color swatch, and the ADStyler itself.

• The color swatch, as the name implies, is a swatch of pre-defined colors that can be selected to use.

• The ADStyler is a panel that allows you to change the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors of the site. Additionally, there are predefined settings you can use (though I haven't personally tested all of them).
