How to see if you can change your name:
If you've bought an account for more, more than likely you will be looking to change your name to a different name rather than the one on the account after purchasing. There are some steps you should take before doing this to prevent you from losing your discrim.

Step 1.) After purchasing your account, you should attempt to send a friend request to whatever name you want on your account with your discrim after it. In this example, the name I am going to be wanting is "Test" and the discrim that I have is #1000. Now, since it sent the friend request someone already has that username with the discrim. So if you were to change your name, then you would lose the discrim. This brings us to our next step.

Step 2.) Now knowing that you cannot get that name, there are 2 pathways you can take now. One, you can try that same process with a different name and if the friend request pops up with an error, you can change your name. Or two, you can add some numbers or whichever you'd like at the end of your name as I did in this case. If it pops up with an error, you are good to go and can change your name to your desired name without losing your discrim. I personally do lower case and capitals at the beginning of the name just to be sure.
