Terms of Service and Rules

Welcome to MCTrades, the modern Minecraft marketplace. Why not stay a while to chat, trade, and earn by registering?

In order to maintain a secure and stable environment for everyone, MCTRADES.ORG (“MCTrades”, “we”, “us”, “our”) has devised a series of rules which must be followed when using MCTrades’s applications, websites, and systems (collectively “services”) by the utilizers of our services (“members”, “users”, “you”, “your”).

MCTrades follows the United States federal laws. By registering on this website, you along with other members hereby agree to adhere to those laws and the following bylaws.

Failure to follow these rules and regulations may result in a warning, account termination, account restrictions, and legal action when we deem necessary.

Global

  • 1.1 Social Influence
    • 1.1.1 Members may not promote, encourage, or knowingly assist the violation of our rules.
    • 1.1.2 False information with the intent to cause harm may not be published.
    • 1.1.3 Community members may not publish content requesting the addition of a user or group of users to be admitted to the MCTrades staff team.
  • 1.2 Social Abuse
    • 1.2.1 Members may not spam, harass, troll, or cause harm to members and staff.
    • 1.2.2 Users should not be racist or violent, and should not rally witch hunts or encourage the self-infliction of pain on others.
    • 1.2.3 Members may not defame fellow members or staff.
    • 1.2.4 Do not irritate members through the constant asking for discounted or free products and services.
    • 1.2.5 Do not send members of MCTrades unsolicited messages or content, especially if said content is sent repeatedly without cause.
    • 1.2.6 You must cease the transmission of content if requested to do so other than within a ticket or dispute.
  • 1.3 Content
    • 1.3.1The sharing of personally identifiable information regarding another person or party is strictly prohibited unless consent is provided, information is legally required to be disclosed, or the details are already considered public (such as WHOIS data).
    • 1.3.2 The posting of content irrelevant to the topic of discussion, or purposely defaming another user or user’s MCTrades services on a thread not started by you is prohibited.
    • 1.3.3 You may not share discord servers which have a pay per invite scheme.
    • 1.3.4 You may not post, publish, or redistribute content on MCTrades which may be considered pornographic or sexually explicit.
    • 1.3.5 Necroposting, the act of replying to a thread inactive for three or more months, is prohibited and may result in a warning.
    • 1.3.6 Advertising competitors of MCTrades (such as other marketplaces) is strictly prohibited on all systems and services controlled, run, hosted, or managed by MCTrades.
    • 1.3.7 Do not post content where an available post rating could instead be used or available functions are specifically designed to perform such task (as an example, the up-thread functionality).
    • 1.3.8 Community members may not publish ‘spoilers’ regarding anticipated content unless a disclaimer is clearly visible prior to the viewing of said spoiler.
    • 1.3.9 Members may not publish content signifying their prolonged inactivity or leaving our website on our services unless within private conversations or one’s own profile wall.
  • 1.4 Content
    • 1.4.1 The posting of money making methods, public or private, is strictly prohibited and will be subject to deletion and punishment.
    • 1.4.2 The sale of Hypixel coins/scripts/items is not permitted anywhere on-site, any threads/posts about this will be removed and you will be subject to punishment.
    • 1.4.3 You must have authorization to redistribute content published by your account.
    • 1.4.4 To bump your thread to the front page you must only use the up-thread function, the use of autobumpers or bots are strictly prohibited.
    • 1.4.5 The distribution of malware (software meant to harm or enable unauthorized access on a computer) is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, methods such as malicious links, files on our resource manager, and corrupted attachments.
    • 1.4.6 Pirated content, including items meant to reproduce another’s work without authorization, is not allowed on MCTrades.
    • 1.4.7 Masked and shortened links (adf.ly, sh.st, etc) may not be published unless managed by the organization they lead to or provide the URL within the link.
    • 1.4.8 The MCTrades platform and services may not be utilized to distribute products, software, services, and guides which are meant to be, or are generally utilized to commit the unauthorized overwhelming and/or attacking of systems.
    • 1.4.9 The distribution of systems purposed for phishing or otherwise violating our malicious content rules is prohibited.
  • 1.5 Account and Security
    • 1.5.1 Community members may not create additional accounts unless authorized to do so or through our business accounts system.
    • 1.5.2 You may not attempt to circumvent security systems with the intent to cause harm.
    • 1.5.3 Do not report content such as members, messages, and reputation if already rejected.
    • 1.5.4 Users may not spam systems and services provided by MCTrades such as reports, disputes, and tickets.
    • 1.5.5 You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to an MCTrades account. If you have lost access to your account, please contact a staff member.
    • 1.5.6 Do not attempt to abuse or deceive the staff of this site.
    • 1.5.7 You may not attempt to disable access to MCTrades’s services.
    • 1.5.8 You may not attempt to trade or sell your MCTrades account.
  • 1.6 Fraud and Deception
    • 1.6.1 The act of scamming, attempted scamming, defrauding, or committing financial fraud is not tolerated.
    • 1.6.2 Impersonation, otherwise known as identity theft, is not tolerated.
    • 1.6.3 Payments to MCTrades (such as for account upgrades and advertising) are final, irreversible, and non-refundable unless specifically stated otherwise. Charging back on, reversing, or disputing a purchase from MCTrades may result in punishment.
    • 1.6.4 Members may not knowingly assist with the process of scamming, defrauding, or committing financial fraud.
    • 1.6.5 Products and services must operate as described.
  • 1.7 Reputation and Reactions
    • 1.7.1 Employees of a business may not provide vouches or reputation to the business they represent without making clear of their employment status with such business.
    • 1.7.2 Users should not publish a vouch or provide reputation unless they have already dealt with the product, service, or business being advertised.
    • 1.7.3 Post ratings, vouches, and reputation may not be used as a form of currency, condition, or award.
    • 1.7.4 Members may not abuse, overwhelm, or spam post reactions, the reputation system, and the ability to publish content.
    • 1.7.5 It is expected that members of our site do not utilize reactions, reputation, and vouches to purposefully troll, harass, or irritate others.
    • 1.7.6 The requesting of items at a reduced or no cost should only be done through private conversations.
    • 1.7.7 Users should not apply negative reputation in return to reputation they have received, otherwise known as revenge repping.
  • 1.8 Authority
    • 1.8.1 Members are expected to adhere to the official site-related requests of MCTrades staff members. If you believe a staff member of ours is acting inappropriately, please notify an administrator via support ticket.
  • 1.9 Modifications
    • 1.9.1 Rules may be at any time modified and you, upon agreement, must adhere by them.

Forum Chat and External Communication Services

  • 2.1 Advertising
    • 2.1.1 Advertisements may only be published once every 15 minutes unless you are carrying out a conversation with another user regarding a prior advertisement. Previous advertisements must also not be visible within the last twenty-five (25) messages posted if in a public room.
    • 2.1.2 When at a per-user level, it is required that you halt advertising to said individual when requested to do so by the receiver of advertisements.
    • 2.1.3 You must be affiliated with businesses, products, or services you advertise.
    • 2.1.4 You may not post the same or similar advertisements to another user if you work for the same service in order to flood the chat or bypass the 15 minute window.
  • 2.2 Content
    • 2.2.1 Do not attempt to create, fuel, or otherwise contribute to a flame war, defined as conversations revolving around the spamming, trolling, defaming, harassing, and insulting of a person or party.
    • 2.2.2 Mention, message, reaction, and emoji spamming along with spamming in general is prohibited.
  • 2.3 External Links and Services
    • 2.3.1 Shortened and masked links (adf.ly, sh.st, etc) may not be posted unless managed by the organization they lead to or to provide insight in regards to where it leads within the link.
    • 2.3.2 It is expected that you not publish external links (whether as advertisements or other messages) other than links managed by MCTrades (such as for threads, posts, and other pages).
    • 2.3.3 Exceptions to rule 2.3.2 apply where external links published have been whitelisted by MCTrades administration.
  • 2.4 Message Interpretation
    • 2.4.1 Message text colors must not significantly interfere with the interpretation of messages on the background color(s) available.
  • 2.5 Message Submission Automation
    • 2.5.1 The automated publishing of messages is prohibited.

Community Moderated Groups

  • 3.1 Group Ownership and Management
    • 3.1.1 Group owners and moderators must remain active on MCTrades services and maintain a warning point count of less than or equal to thirty (30) points. Failure to do so may result in the confiscation, deletion, and/or disabling of a group.
    • 3.1.2 A single group owner may only change ownership after having the group for 60 days or more.
    • 3.1.3 Users may not own more than one (1) community moderated group and may not moderate more than two (2) groups. Exceptions may be made on a per-situation basis. The MCTrades administration has the final say in such matters.
  • 3.2 Group Branding and Association
    • 3.2.1 Group owners must have their groups maintain the same design (name colors, banner, icon, name, etc) for 45 days at a time. An exception may be granted in the event of an ownership change.
    • 3.2.2 Groups may not be associated with external violence or terrorism groups.
    • 3.2.3 Group branding may not target any specific user, person, party, or organization in a way that violates our rules.
  • 3.3 Discrimination
    • 3.3.1 A user group may not target any specific user, person, party, or organization with the intent to incite violence or to break the site rules.
    • 3.3.2 Groups may only become pay to join with the approval of the MCTrades administration.
  • 3.4 Rosters
    • 3.4.1 Roster members may not be chosen by race, religion, nationality, or cultural practices.
    • 3.4.2 No more than one (1) roster per two (2) group members may be created.
  • 3.5 Group Representation and Admission
    • 3.5.1 Users may only join four (4) community moderated groups and may not persuade the MCTrades staff along with group owners and moderators for entry unless authorized to do so.
    • 3.5.2 You may not spam requests to join, modify, create, leave, report, or invite members to groups or rosters.
  • 3.6 External Group Interactions
    • 3.6.1 Group widget fields may not purposefully be set to invalid IDs or usernames.
    • 3.6.2 Groups may not promote sites competing with MCTrades.
    • 3.6.3 Groups may not promote content or websites breaking the site rules.

Advertising

  • 4.1 Slot Allocation
    • 4.1.1 Only two (2) advertising slots may be allocated to an account per ad position at any time. Exceptions may be made on a per-situation basis as determined by the MCTrades administration.
    • 4.1.2 Advertising slots may not be rented out, resold, or transferred by community members to a person or party other than one’s own.

Business Accounts

  • 5.1 Content
    • 5.1.1 Business accounts may not publish content unrelated to the business they represent and their clients.
    • 5.1.2 Business accounts must identify or signify who is posting content when publishing messages.
  • 5.2 Reputation and Ratings
    • 5.2.1 Business accounts may not receive reputation from their associated business’s employees.
    • 5.2.2 The usage of business accounts to provide reputation, vouches, or reactions to employees, including their managing accounts, is prohibited.
  • 5.3 General Usage
    • 5.3.1 Business accounts may not be used to evade punishment.
    • 5.3.2 Do not abuse business accounts.

Dispute Resolution

  • 6.1 Content
    • 6.1.1 You may not knowingly contribute false information to a dispute.
    • 6.1.2 Do not attempt to mislead the dispute resolution process.
  • 6.2 Sensitive Information
    • 6.2.1 Users may not submit personally identifiable information regarding another member unless already considered to be public information. If you are concerned that information you’d like to submit could violate this rule, please contact a staff member prior to submitting your dispute/comments.

Resources

  • 7.1 Content
    • 7.1.1 All resources should work as described and should not have any features missing from the download.
    • 7.1.2 You may only upload or sell resources that you have created or have the rights to share, anything otherwise could result in a dispute being opened.
    • 7.1.3 All resources must be of adequate quality to function as described.
  • 7.2 Security
    • 7.2.1 Any sensitive information obtained while providing or obtaining resources must be kept private.
    • 7.2.2 No resources shall contain any malware, bloatware, viruses, or other unnecessary components.
