This guide highlights ways to avoid getting scammed through various methods and outlines the various methods scammers typically use to trick their victims. Getting scammed brings upon a horrible feeling, however that all can be avoided.

    The Boonk

    General Method of Scamming
As one of the most common scams, this method of scamming leaves their victim hanging on a cliff, here referenced as the boonk. The scammer would generally request the other party to provide their part of the deal first and once done not provide their agreed upon items.

    Scam Avoidance
To avoid this scam, simply do not trade directly with those whom you do not trust. Request to use a reputable Middleman, if they deny the one chosen, have them choose the Middleman and confirm you fully trust them as much as the first. If they deny using a Middleman entirely, their likely trying to boonk you. Confirm that all middlemen chosen is not related to The Partisan Middleman, another method of scamming.

Transaction Identification Number Account Access Restoration

This scam is also pretty common and occurs when you buy an account from somebody who then pulls it back into their possession using the TID. When buying an account please take the time to find it's owner history and look into the user on this site and others, and make sure there have been no previous incidents when the account has been pulled back.
If the TID is not included in the trade, and you want to be extra safe, you can also transfer the name to another account using a sniper.

    Chargeback

A very common scam. This happens when you sell something to somebody who then charges the money back on PayPal.
This can be avoided by only accepting F&F if you're using PayPal. You can even receive the money on a dummy account and then send it to your main to be extra safe.

    Fraudulent Payment

This scam is actually new, so it is very important that awareness about it is spread.
This scam occurs when somebody sends you a fake payment on PayPal that looks like a real one that's pending, then tries to convince you to give him the product.
Examples of what a fake payment looks like (click) and (click).
Never send the product or account when money is pending.

    Fraudulent Identity

A lot of reputable users have impersonators, or someone pretending to be them on Discord or another messenger. These people are trying to scam you. If someone with no message history with you claims to be a reputable member, always confirm it with them on site.

    The Partisan Middleman

This is very similar to the last scam method, only it is the Middleman being impersonated, usually by the person on the other side of the trade. Again, always confirm with both users onsite.

    The Exit Scam

An exit scam is where a reputable member leaves the community by scamming out large amounts of money. They can be very unexpected, but there are usually some signs to look out for.
First, someone usually exit scams across multiple sites and on multiple people. So I always recommend keeping an eye on the dispute sections on the sites you use.
Someone who exit scams have most likely been inactive for a while as well, so be sure to run background checks on that.
Just remember at all times to always use a mm for high teir deals, it's not worth taking the risk.
